The Office of the President
As you look through our website, you will find a wide variety of educational opportunities available through our 90 career and certificate options. South Texas College makes it convenient for students to take classes close to home. We have campuses in McAllen, Weslaco and Rio Grande City, as well as the Dr. Ramiro R. Casso Nursing and Allied Health Center and the Technology Center in McAllen. Or you can learn from home through our popular online distance education courses.
STC has undergone an aggressive construction program at all our campuses and centers. Last year saw the opening of 16 new buildings in 16 months and this year we are continuing with our construction and remodeling plans.
This year marks the biggest change at the College as we introduce our first four-year degree, the Bachelor of Applied Technology. This program presents many new and exciting educational opportunities for the students of Hidalgo and Starr counties.
Dual enrollment programs are offered in school districts throughout Hidalgo and Starr counties. The programs are tuition free and allow eligible high school students to take college courses while attending high school.
The Partnership for Workforce Training and Continuing Education offers a variety of courses that provide customized training to upgrade skills of current employees and prepare new employees. Mandatory Continuing Education Units meeting licensing requirements are also available for certified professionals.
Graduation from a community college opened the door to my own future, and as president of South Texas College, I am committed to opening doors to higher education for everyone in the Rio Grande Valley.
