Turkey Trot to benefit food bank

Join the fun and helps others in need have a great Thanksgiving at the same time at the South Texas College Kinesiology Department’s 3rd Annual Turkey Trot. The two-mile walk/run takes place Saturday, Nov. 8 at STC’s Pecan Campus in McAllen. The entry fee is four non-perishable canned goods, which will be donated to the Food Bank of the RGV to assist the group in stocking shelves for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

Also, it’s your chance to meet the Rio Grande Valley Viper Snake Charmers as they cheer participants during the event. Announcer Tony Forina will be the master of ceremonies. The first 150 registrants will receive free tee-shirts and all participants will receive gift bags. Prizes will be given to the top 10 participants.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in front of STC’s Pecan Campus Building G, located at the corner of Pecan Blvd. and 29th Street. Enter off 29th Street and look for the flagpole. The race begins at 9:15 a.m. All participants must sign a waiver form when registering.
