Mid-Valley Campus Library offers story time on Fridays

South Texas College’s Mid-Valley Campus is encouraging kids to get excited about reading this summer and to promote reading locally, the campus is hosting story time every Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at its campus library. The first story time will be held Friday, June 6th. Story time is free and open to the public. Participating children must be accompanied by an adult.

“Kids have an entire summer of fun and play ahead of them and we hope they will take some time to read and enjoy the benefits that reading offers,” said Arnoldo Becho, STC Mid-Valley Campus librarian. “Reading can take you to far away lands and different periods in time. It can lead to leaps and bounds in creativity and imagination. So during every story time we will select a different book to read from, exposing participants to the new worlds that await them in literature.”

Families are also encouraged to sign up for a free STC Library Community Card. The card allows community members to check out books from all five of the college’s campus libraries.
