Step 1:
Route Grant Proposal Form for approval
Step 2:
Participate in meeting with OSI staff to discuss the funding opportunity and the prospective grant proposal idea
Step 3:
Design project and collaborate internally and externally to establish agreements, gather letters, forms, data, or plans, as needed
Step 4:
Engage in coordinated effort to draft, review feedback, and revise, as needed
Step 5:
Submit final and complete proposal to the Office of Sponsored Initiatives (OSI) at least 5 business days prior to official deadline for processing

Services
- Prospect Research
A technique used by development staff to identify potential funding sources to support and faculty and staff who wish to find funding to implement an innovative project idea.
- Prospectus
A printed document that provides administrators, faculty and staff with important details regarding the purpose of a grant program, required elements for the submission of an application or proposal, deadlines, and any other critical information to consider in determining whether to pursue and to plan an effective approach to designing a fundable proposal.
- Submission of Notice of Intent to Apply
Assistance to develop and submit a Notice of Intent to Apply for a proposal by the deadline set by the funding agency.
- Technical Reviews of Proposals
Grant development staff conduct a technical review of the draft proposals written by department faculty and staff, including a review of the format, organization, structure, coherence, completeness in alignment with the evaluation criteria from the funding agency, when published.
- Reviews and Processing of Letters of Support/Commitment
Review and assist in the development of Letters of Support or Letters of Commitment. Letters to funding agencies or for partners submitting grants that request a letter from South Texas College are routed from our department to the Office of the President for review and signature, if approved.
- Grant Budget Development
Compliance staff assist in the development and review of grant program budgets that align to funding agency guidelines for allowable and unallowable expenditures, as well as compliance with internal STC policy and guidelines for budgets.
- Proposal Submission
Technical assistance with the organization, packaging and submission of grant applications and proposals in accordance with specifications from grantors.
- Pre-award Support for Grant Partnerships with Other Institutions
Step 1: Complete and route the Grant Proposal Form
Step 2: If approved, the submitter of the form will be contacted to schedule Collaborative Project Planning Team meetings to collaboratively design and develop the proposal narrative and assist the applicant agency.
Step 3: A Compliance staff member will be assigned to your grant to assist in the development of the budget, memorandum of understandings, subrecipient award contracts, and to review compliance requirements that may extend to STC as a partner.
Step 4: Contact Research & Analytical Services if the project requires program evaluation activities or data from South Texas College.
Step 5: Submit a copy of the proposal and any partner agreement documents (subaward budgets, subrecipient agreements, MOUs and Letters of Support or Commitment) to OSI at least 10 days prior to the deadline for submission by the lead applicant agency for review and authorization by the Office of the President.
