Have you got an appetite….for education that is? If so, join South Texas College, and co-hosts The Dorados, The City of Hidalgo, L & F Distributors BL , Budweiser SPI Bike Fest ,RGVC Hog, RGV Harley Davidson , and Dodge Arena, for the first-ever Appetite For Education Cook-Off at Dodge Arena on July 25, 2009. This delicious event will raise funds for South Texas College’s General Scholarship Fund.
Officially sanctioned by the International Bar-B-Que Cookers Association (IBCA), more than 50 teams will have the opportunity to grill up the best of fajitas, chicken, pork ribs and brisket, all while raising funds to keep a college education affordable and accessible to all Valley students.
In addition to a grilling competition, awards will be presented to the best beans and cobbler. And all attendees will have a chance to make their own stomach’s heard with the “People’s Choice Award.”
So rest up your pallet and get ready to make college dreams an appetizing reality!
In addition, to the cook-off, Budwiser SPI Bike Fest, Harley Davidson, and the RGVC Hog Chapter, will host a motorcycle benefit run to assist STC student scholarships.
Also, TEAM McAllen Cycling Club, will do a benefit bike run to raise money for a scholarship fund to be set up on behalf of Karie’s Ride Charity. South Texas College is proud and honored to assist with this memorial scholarship.
