Grant Development
The Office of Grant Development, Accountability and Management Services (the Office), a unit of the Office of the President will coordinate non-Partnership grant development activities for the College. The Office is designed to facilitate the process of developing proposals, to help projects report compliance to the funder for a second request. It is responsible for ensuring the integrity of all proposals, contracts, and applications submitted on behalf of South Texas College to funding agencies. The purpose of Grant Development is to maximize resources available to South Texas College to enhance educational and student services. The Grants Developer identifies grant-funding opportunities from federal, state, local, and private sources and coordinates the development of grant proposals. Grant Development ensures compliance with grant stipulations and regulations.
Grant Compliance
Grant Compliance is responsible for pre and post award activities related to grants development. The Grants/Contracts Compliance Specialist (Compliance Specialist) is responsible for ensuring compliance with the funding agency, federal, state, local rules and regulations, as well as, STC policies and procedures. All grants proposals/applications developed by the Grant Developer must undergo a compliance review. The Compliance Specialist works closely with the Grants Developer to ensure compliance with funding agency submittal requirements and to identify potential programmatic or fiscal issues with the proposal. Once a grant is awarded to STC, the Compliance Specialist is accountable for ensuring programmatic and fiscal compliance with the rules and regulations of the funding agency and those of local, state, and federal governing agencies. The Compliance Specialist serves as a liaison between the Grant Manager and STC departments.
